OREANDA-NEWS. Russia must "change its behavior" in order to re-enter the G7. This was stated by the official representative of the Office of the Prime Minister of Great Britain.
The G8 format has existed since 1998. In 2014, it was reduced to the G7, when, against the background of events in Crimea, the club members decided not to go to the next summit in Sochi, but gathered in Brussels without Russia. Western countries have accused Russia of interfering in the affairs of Ukraine and imposed sanctions. Moscow retaliated, repeatedly denied all accusations, and said it was counterproductive to speak to it in the language of sanctions.
“Russia must change its behavior before joining the G7,” a spokesman for the British Prime Minister’s office told reporters.
He also said that the Russian government should answer questions about the situation with the "poisoning" of Alexei Navalny. “We are committed to working with our international partners to demonstrate that the use of banned chemical weapons has consequences,” spokesman Boris Johnson said.
He also said that Dominic Raab, who currently holds the post of British Foreign Minister, will discuss the situation with the German Foreign Minister.
