Germany increased its exports to Russia in November 12.8%, reduced imports from the Russian Federation of 14%

OREANDA-NEWS Germany increased its exports to Russia in November 2023 by 12.8% in comparison with October, according to the report, Federal statistical office Germany (Destatis). At the same time, imports from Russia decreased by 14%.
According to the ministry, in November, the total volume of exports to Russia amounted to 700 million euros. In annual terms, the exports of Germany to Russia dropped by 38.3%.
The study notes that imports from Russia decreased by 14.0% to 200 million euros over the same period. Compared to November 2022, German imports to Russia decreased by 88.4%.
In 11 months of 2023, the volume of German exports to Russia decreased by 40.2% compared to the same period in 2022 and amounted to 8.3 billion euros. Imports fell by 90% to 3.5 billion euros.
At the end of December, it became known that Russian companies in January – September 2023 increased the supply of nitrogen fertilizers to EU countries by 7.6% to 1.8 million tons. This follows from the data of the European Statistical Agency (Eurostat). In September, shipments increased by 10% to 297,200 tons.
Germany's imports increased the most in nine months – 3.2 times to 426,300 tons. Shipments to Poland increased 1.8 times to 257,700 tons. France increased imports of Russian nitrogen fertilizers by 18.1% to 362,400, the Netherlands – by 17.7% to 163,100 tons. These four countries accounted for 2/3 of the total exports of nitrogen fertilizers to the EU, including Germany – almost a quarter (23.9%).
On December 18, the European Union agreed on the 12th package of sanctions against Russia. Within its framework, the EU has imposed a ban on the direct or indirect import, purchase and transit of diamonds and jewelry from Russia. Additional restrictions are being imposed on imports of goods, including cast iron and spiegeleisen, copper wire, aluminum wire, foil, tubes and pipes totaling 2.2 billion euros per year, the income from which is used by the Russian state. In addition, the EU has connected Switzerland to sanctions against iron and steel. Brussels itself banned the import of these goods, including fittings, sheets and pipes, from Russia back in March 2022.
