OREANDA-NEWS. German Prosecutor General Peter Frank announced the start of an investigation into war crimes in Ukraine, RIA Novosti reports.
According to Spiegel's sources in the German judicial circles, the investigation will be a "structural procedure for the preservation of evidence and circumstantial evidence" of war crimes on the territory of Ukraine.
The collected evidence will later allow "to take action against individual criminals."
The Kremlin has previously dismissed US allegations of possible reprisals against Ukrainians.
Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov dismissed US claims that Moscow allegedly has a list of Ukrainians who should be exterminated or sent to camps in the event of a so-called "Russian invasion".
“This is an absolute lie. I know that this is absolute fiction, there is no such list. This is a fake," the Kremlin spokesman said.
The corresponding letter was sent by the US representative in the UN office in Geneva, Bathsheba Nell Crocker, to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet. At the same time, the American diplomat does not provide direct evidence of the existence of the mentioned list.
