OREANDA-NEWS. The German Foreign Ministry declared non-grata two employees of the Russian Embassy in Berlin "with immediate entry into force of the decision" in connection with the loud murder of a Georgian citizen that occurred in the German capital at the end of summer. This is stated in a statement issued on Wednesday by the foreign ministry.

"The German government thereby reacted to the fact that the Russian authorities, despite repeated urgent demands at a high level, did not cooperate sufficiently in the investigation of the murder in Berlin Tiergarten on August 23", the report said. "These expectations were formulated by State Secretary Michaelis in a conversation with Ambassador Nechaev, which took place on November 20 at the German Foreign Ministry", the German department noted, where they believe that the Russian side was delaying the process.

Earlier on Wednesday, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov called "absolutely groundless" suspicions that the Russian Federation may be related to the murder of a Georgian citizen in Berlin. The murder of a 40-year-old Georgian citizen was committed on August 23. On the same day, the Berlin prosecutor's office announced the detention of a suspect, who, according to her, is a 49-year-old Russian.
