OREANDA-NEWS  Georgia is facing a challenge related to mass migration from Russia. This was stated by the country's president Salome Zurabishvili, whose words are quoted by Novosti – Georgia.

"This is a challenge, which to some extent is an opportunity, because it shows us once again what Georgian tolerance and hospitality mean, but hospitality should not be stupid," she said.

Speaking about the introduction of visas for Russians, Zurabishvili noted that "appropriate regulations" are needed to "avoid undesirable intentions" in the future.

The Georgian President also stated that the country does not change its course towards integration with Europe. "Europe has really opened up, there is a prospect of expansion, and this is the result of the success of European policy… It is with this Europe that we want to integrate..." she stressed.

Earlier it was reported that the Georgian opposition demanded to introduce a visa regime for Russian citizens against the background of "mass entry" into the country.

Bloomberg wrote that Russians who left the country for Georgia and Kazakhstan could provoke an increase in consumer prices in these countries.
