OREANDA-NEWS. French doctors announced an impending disaster in the country due to the coronavirus pandemic and called on the authorities to immediately close the borders. An open letter from the physicians was published by Le Journal du Dimanche.

According to their appeal, the French medical system is on the verge of collapse due to a lack of hospital beds.

As the doctor Benjamin Davido said: "We do not want to choose between myocardial infarction and a patient with COVID-19. But this is reality. We will have to think about the comorbidities and the risk that something will go wrong."

The doctors stressed that they intend to provide assistance to all patients until the last, and by their appeal they are trying to point out to the authorities the difficult situation in medical institutions.

Citizens, meanwhile, continue to rebel against the quarantine. In Liege, Belgium, the protest gathered hundreds of people. Young, old and whole families came to express their tiredness from restrictive measures, which in one form or another have been going on for the second year.

Worldwide, according to the latest WHO data, there are 125.7 million cases. Most of the infected were detected in the USA, Brazil and India. Russia ranks fourth in this list, ahead of France, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, Turkey and Germany.
