OREANDA-NEWS. Forbes magazine ranked 12 Russian industries in which top managers earn the most. The study was based on data from major consulting agencies that specialize in the selection of senior executives.

Over the past year, the highest salaries (including bonuses and other remuneration paid in 2018 or assigned in 2019) in Russia were received by the leadership of oil and gas companies. Their managers earned in 2019 an average of 3.28 million US dollars. According to experts, the total amount of payments to general directors and presidents of the companies with revenues of more than 3 billion dollars increased by an average of 45 %, from 2.26 million dollars.

The second place in the ranking was gained by the leaders of companies of heavy industry. The average salary of the head of an industrial company with revenues of more than 3 billion dollars amounted to 1.78 million, which is 1 % less than a year earlier.

The third are telecommunication companies (with revenues of more than 1 billion dollars): the average amount of payments to their heads for the year increased by 12 %, from 1.15 million to 1.29 million dollars.

The first three are followed by: investment banks – 1.2 million dollars (plus 9 %); commercial banks – 1.09 million (minus 2 %); retail networks – 970 thousand (plus 24 %); transport companies – 920 thousand (plus 49 %); construction and development companies – 710 thousand (plus 39 %); insurance companies – 670 thousand (unchanged); consumer goods producers – 590 thousand (plus 9 %); agricultural holding companies – 520 thousand (plus 6 %); pharmaceutical companies – 400 thousand dollars (plus 5 %).
