OREANDA-NEWS  The prosecution has requested a life sentence for Russian Vojislav Torden (former name — Jan Petrovsky), accused in Finland of allegedly committing war crimes in Ukraine in 2014-2015. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

It is noted that the case started on December 5. A total of 14 meetings are planned, and the hearings are scheduled to end on January 31.

Torden was first arrested in July this year at Helsinki airport. He is on the EU sanctions list under his former name. He is banned from entering Finland, but at the same time, according to his lawyer, he has a valid residence permit in Finland based on his wife's studies.

In December, a court in Helsinki extended the detention of Vojislav Orden. At the same time, the Russian does not admit guilt. Before that, the Finnish court refused to issue the Order to Ukraine. The Ukrainian side accuses Torden of terrorism because of his participation in military operations in Donbass as the leader of the sabotage and assault reconnaissance group (DSHRG) "Rusich".
