OREANDA-NEWS. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) caught two Americans trying to transmit classified data about nuclear submarines. This is reported by the US Department of Justice.

U.S. Navy nuclear engineer Jonathan Tobbe and his wife Diana established correspondence with a bureau agent who pretended to be a representative of a foreign state. A married couple and an FBI employee agreed to sell classified information for "thousands of dollars in cryptocurrency."

Tobbe, under the supervision of his wife, hid CD-cards with closed data three times in an agreed place. The first time he put the card inside the half of a peanut butter sandwich, the second time he hid it in a pack of gum. The engineer was detained during the third bookmark of the SD card on October 9.

Jonathan Tobbe had access to information about naval nuclear power plants, including information concerning sensitive elements of military design, operating parameters and performance characteristics of reactors for nuclear-powered warships.

Earlier, the Stara Zagora police reported the arrest of a 60-year-old Russian, as well as a 24-year-old Lithuanian citizen and his 59-year-old compatriot. It is noted that all three worked at the Arsenal military plant. They were detained at the border with Greece after it became known that documentation and some products were missing from the factory.
