OREANDA-NEWS A series of explosions occurred in several areas of the capital of Thailand, two people were injured, reports the Bangkok Post.

According to the publication, explosions were heard near the overhead metro station Chong Nonsi BTS at about 8:50 (4:50 Moscow time) and at least in three other districts of Bangkok on Friday morning.

Police said two street cleaners were hit by explosions in the Xuan Luang area. No other casualties have been reported.

Homemade bombs are thought to have exploded. At the scene, police officers specializing in the disposal of explosive ordnance work.

A regional forum on the security of foreign ministers of the countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) is currently taking place in Bangkok.

On Thursday, Thai police discovered two fake bombs near the venue of the forum. On suspicion of involvement in them, two men were arrested.
