OREANDA-NEWS. The Department of State said that Russian Buta Butin, convicted in the United States, will fly from Miami (Florida) to Moscow on Friday, where she arrives on Saturday morning. This is stated in a response published on Thursday by the Russian ambassador in Washington, Anatoly Antonov, to a media question about the deportation of a Russian citizen.
“After the embassy’s repeated requests for the procedure for Butina’s return to Russia, the State Department gave an official response with the following information. Maria will be transferred from the federal prison in Tallahassee (Florida) to the migration center in Miami on October 25, from where she will fly to Moscow on the same day. Arrival - on the morning of October 26. This is all the information that we can provide at the moment", said the head of the diplomatic mission.
He also expressed the hope that this "will end the most difficult stage in the life of a Russian woman". “We wish her a speedy reunion with her relatives and friends, restoration of strength after hard trials that have fallen to her lot”, Antonov concluded. “The embassy’s work to uphold the rights of Russians in American captivity will continue. We will seek to return all unjustly convicted citizens of Russia to their homeland”.
