OREANDA-NEWS The Supreme People's Prosecutor's Office of the People's Republic of China has issued an arrest warrant for former deputy head of the propaganda department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Zhang Jianchun, suspected of corruption. The agency reported this on the social network WeChat, RIA Novosti reports.
"The prosecutor's office, in accordance with the law, decided to arrest Zhang Jianchun on suspicion of accepting a bribe. The case is under further consideration," the message says.
It is separately emphasized that the investigation is being conducted by the State Supervisory Committee of China.
Earlier it was reported that corruption undermining the troops was a possible reason for the purges in the Chinese army. "The main problem for China seems to be bribery, which undermines the capabilities of units such as the missile forces, which can play a decisive role in the event of a conflict over Taiwan," the Bloomberg news agency notes.
