OREANDA-NEWS The European Commission (EC) has confirmed the fact of sudden inspections in Germany in a number of companies whose activities are related to the supply, transportation and storage of gas, Russian media TASS reports with reference to the EC statement. They stated that such searches «do not mean the guilt of companies and do not predetermine the results of investigations».

On March 29, the European Commission conducted unannounced inspections in the buildings of several companies in Germany engaged in the supply, transportation and storage of natural gas, the statement said. The European Commission expresses concern that the audited companies may have violated EU competition standards, which prohibit the abuse of dominant positions in the market, the report says.

The cost of gas for Russians, in case of refusal of «unfriendly countries», including the USA, Japan, the UK and the EU states, to pay for its supplies in rubles, will not change, since this indicator is regulated by the state and annually indexes its cost at a level below inflation, said Deputy Director General of the Institute of National Energy Alexander Frolov in interwiev with NEWS.ru. The speaker noted that there are no prerequisites for raising or lowering the indicator.
