The heads of state and government of the European Union at the summit on December 12-13 will make a political decision on the extension of economic sanctions against Russia, which expires on January 31. This was announced on Wednesday by the EU representative to reporters in Brussels. "As you know, sanctions against Russia are tied to the implementation of the Minsk agreements. It's expected that the summit will coordinate the extension of restrictive measures for another six months", he said.
The topic of sanctions will be raised in the framework of the discussion of the Minsk agreements to resolve the conflict in Ukraine after the Norman summit in Paris on December 9, the EU representative emphasized.
