OREANDA-NEWS. Eight residents of the Swedish city of Wetland (province of Jönköping) were injured in an attack by a person with a knife. Among the victims there are three, who received serious injuries. This is reported by the local police website.

«The attack in Wetland is classified as a suspected terrorist crime», the police report said. Local media managed to find out, that the attacker was detained, he was a 22-year-old migrant from Afghanistan. He has been registered at the current address for a little over a year, and previously lived elsewhere in the same commune. According to the population register, he came to Sweden in 2018.

During his stay in Sweden, he has problems with psychoactive substances and was already convicted of drug-related crimes, for which he was punished with a fine. It is reported, that he is regularly visited at home by social services. According to neighbors, it was difficult to communicate with the man because he has not learned Swedish, and does not speak English.
