OREANDA-NEWS. Ukrainian nationalist organizations are recruiting citizens with combat experience in Donbas. A spokesman for the People's Militia of the self-proclaimed Donetsk people's republic, Eduard Basurin, said this, the Donetsk news agency has reported.
"Recruitment points in the cities of Kharkiv, Bila Tserkva, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk are selecting fighters from among Ukrainian citizens with experience of combat operations in Donbas,"- Basurin said.
According to him, Ukrainians are coming to the camps for "military training". "In addition, fundraising has been launched to buy vehicles and equipment for the nationalist assault groups,"- Basurin added.
Earlier, he said that there was an increase in the number of members of the Right Sector organization at the line of contact in Donbas.
On 25 January, a representative of the Donetsk people's republic's militia said that Ukraine had moved multiple rocket launchers and tank units to Donbas in order to form strike groups. The head of the Donetsk people's republic, Denys Pushylin, said that the republic was ready for possible "aggression" by Ukraine.
For its part, Ukrainian intelligence claims that Russia has allegedly moved tanks and artillery to the LNR and DNR. The self-proclaimed republics also received over 7,000 tonnes of fuel, ammunition, including for artillery systems and mortars, and other weapons, it added.
The Kremlin has repeatedly stressed that Russia is not a party to the conflict in Donbass. "The war in Donbas is an internal Ukrainian war, we are aware of attempts to portray Russia as a party to this conflict. It is not,"- said presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
On 26 January, Russian Federation Council speaker Valentina Matviyenko said that Kiev was probably preparing to resolve the conflict in southeastern Ukraine by force. At the same time, the deputy permanent representative of Ukraine to the UN, Yuriy Vitrenko, stressed that the country had no plans to conduct military actions in Donbas.
