OREANDA-NEWS. The Ministry of National Defense of Poland assured that despite the decision of the United States, which stopped the transfer of its troops to Defender maneuvers in Europe in connection with the spread of the new coronavirus, these exercises will continue.

As pointed out in a widespread statement by the Polish defense department, stopping the transfer of soldiers "doesn't mean the completion of exercises". “They will be implemented with the participation of American soldiers who are already on the territory of our country”, the Polish Ministry of Defense informed.

According to reports, there are now 4 thousand US Army soldiers and 1,550 pieces of equipment that arrived in the country as part of the Defender exercises. In addition, a US armored brigade and several hundred American soldiers, members of the multinational NATO battalion, created to strengthen the eastern flank, operate in Poland.

On Monday, the European command of the US Armed Forces reported that since March 13, all movements of personnel and equipment from the US to Europe have been stopped. It's reported that many details regarding the American rotational and other military presence in Europe are still under discussion.
