OREANDA-NEWS. Czech Foreign Minister Tomas Petrzycek intends to meet with Russian Ambassador to the Republic Alexander Zmeevsky in connection with the inclusion by the Russian Ministry of Justice in the list of foreign and international non-governmental organizations whose activities are recognized as undesirable in Russia, the Czech organization "Man in Need" (Slovek v tisni). The politician, who is on a working visit to Ethiopia, said this on Wednesday on his Twitter page.
“People in Need” is a respected organization that provides support for human rights and democracy in the world”, he said. - I consider the named reasons for the ban on its activities in Russia to be absurd. The prohibition of activity of a human rights organization indicates the state of human rights in the country. I will demand an explanation. I will call the Russian ambassador to me".
The organization was introduced into it in accordance with the Federal Law "On measures to influence individuals involved in violations of fundamental human rights and freedoms, the rights and freedoms of citizens of the Russian Federation" on the basis of a decision of the Deputy Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation of November 7, 2019.
