Companies from Russia held more than 150 meetings with Armenian retail chains

OREANDA-NEWS The two–day business mission of Russian food manufacturers "Made in Russia" ended in Yerevan, during which the participants held more than 150 negotiations with potential partners from Armenia, the business mission was organized by the Russian Export Center (REC, part of the VEB Group.Russian Federation), the center said in a statement.
"16 enterprises from Russia presented confectionery, meat and dairy products, spices, finished grain products and products for a healthy diet. Armenian companies are particularly interested in meat products, as well as niche products such as lactose-free ice cream and lean protein bars," the REC reports.
With the support of the REC, both large manufacturers who have been working in Armenia for a long time and small companies that are just planning to gain a foothold in the local market have come to Yerevan to look for new partners.
More than 50 interested companies from Armenia, including the largest retail chains, importers and distributors, as well as suppliers of products for restaurants, cafes and hotels, were able to evaluate Russian products and discuss opportunities for cooperation with exporters. According to the REC's preliminary estimates, the potential for negotiations exceeded $6.75 million.
In addition to business meetings, which usually take place on business missions, tasting tables and informal networking were also organized for the participants of the business mission.
It should also be noted that the business mission in Armenia was supported at a high level. Deputy Minister of Economy of Armenia Ashkhen Shirvanyan and Vice President of the Armenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Karen Ivanov spoke at the opening ceremony.
