Classes in Schools of Crimea Were Canceled due to Reports of Mining
OREANDA-NEWS The Crimean authorities decided to cancel classes in all schools due to the mass mailing of messages about mining. This was reported on Friday, February 25, by the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of the republic, Interfax writes.
The children were sent home until Monday, February 28.
Earlier it became known that more than 20 houses were damaged by exploding shells in the Dzhankoy district of Crimea. The head of the republic Sergey Aksenov clarified that no one was seriously injured among the citizens.
On February 24, 10 vessels were evacuated after anonymous reports of mining.
There is a high-alert mode in Crimea. According to Aksenov, nothing threatens the life and health of the local population.
There was also information that the Chairman of the State Water Committee of the Crimea was instructed to prepare for the resumption of water supply through the North Crimean Canal from the territory of Ukraine.
"It looks like we won't need desalination plants. I gave the order to the chairman of the State Committee for Water Management and Land Reclamation of the Republic of Crimea, Igor Vail, to prepare the North Crimean Canal for receiving water," Aksenov wrote in his Telegram channel.
Water supply from the Dnieper to the Crimean Peninsula via the North Crimean Canal was stopped in April 2014. In recent years, the canal has been used to transfer water to the east of the peninsula from water intakes on the territory of the Soviet and Belogorsky districts of the republic.
