OREANDA-NEWS. The restrictive measures introduced by the Russian side regarding the ban on entry of Chinese citizens into its territory are temporary and are determined by the national interests of the Russian Federation. On Wednesday, during a briefing, said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Gen Shuang.

"The Russian side informed China through diplomatic channels in advance of its decision. Russia is convinced that China will win the fight against the epidemic, and it also expressed strong support for China", the diplomat said

He also noted that “in relation to certain groups affected by restrictions, in particular students who cannot return to Russia, the Russian side will take a number of measures, such as distance learning, so that this situation does not affect the total volume of study programs". Earlier it was reported that Russia will temporarily suspend the entry of citizens of the People's Republic of China on February 20.

Also, the acceptance of documents, registration and issuance of invitations to enter the Russian Federation for the purpose of laboring for Chinese citizens, permits to attract and use foreign workers and work permits for these citizens outside of Russia will be temporarily suspended.
