OREANDA-NEWS  China is ready to fully support Russia's work in BRICS as chairman, and work with Russia to strengthen the strategic partnership of the association, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Nizhny Novgorod.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of a meeting of the BRICS foreign ministers.

"China is ready to fully support Russia's work in BRICS as chairman, work together with Russia to strengthen the BRICS strategic partnership, encourage joint actions to strengthen the Global South, and speak even more actively in favor of supporting multilateralism and stimulating joint development," Wang Yi said, quoted by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
