OREANDA-NEWS. Accusations of involvement of Chinese hackers in breaking the internal computer network of the National Association of Industrialists of the United States are unfounded. This was announced on Thursday at a regular briefing by the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China Geng Shuang.
“We are aware of such reports. At the same time, we noted that the relevant conclusions are speculative. This is just an unfounded statement”, the diplomat said. "China is a consistent supporter of ensuring the security of cyberspace. We are fighting any kind of cyber attacks and crimes in this area", he stressed. On Wednesday, the American News Agency, citing sources, reported that alleged Chinese hackers hacked the internal computer network of the National Association of Industrialists of the United States, the largest association of American manufacturing companies, in the summer.
According to the agency, after the hack was discovered, the association hired a cybersecurity firm that determined that the attack was from China. Accurate information about exactly what information was stolen isn't given. The incident occurred shortly before the next round of talks between the US and China, during which representatives of the two countries discussed the contents of a possible trade deal.
