OREANDA-NEWS The Canadian authorities have imposed new anti-Russian sanctions, which hit nine people and six companies, the Canadian Foreign Ministry said on Friday.
Sanctions have been imposed, in particular, against the Izvestia newspaper, the Parliamentary Newspaper and the REN TV channel.
A press release from the Canadian Foreign Ministry says that individuals and companies who have fallen under restrictions "are part of a network whose purpose is to spread false information and propaganda, which they present as expert opinions."
Foreign Minister Melanie Joly pointed out that Canada, together with its partners, continues to "fight against Russian disinformation."
