OREANDA-NEWS. The Ukrainian government has extended until the end of 2020 restrictions on Russian goods. This was announced on Wednesday by the Verkhovna Rada deputy from "European Solidarity" (leader - Petro Poroshenko) Alexey Goncharenko. "The Cabinet of Ministers has extended for a year duties against Russian goods - until December 31, 2020 - as a response to similar actions by the Russian Federation", Goncharenko wrote in his telegram channel.
Since January 1, 2016, in connection with the entry into force of the economic part of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU, Russia has suspended the agreement on a free trade zone with Ukraine to protect its economic interests. Since the beginning of 2016, the food embargo imposed by the Russian government in response to European sanctions against Russia has been extended to Ukraine.
Ukraine, in turn, adopted a resolution "On the Prohibition of the Importation of Goods into the Customs Territory of Origin from Russia", which entered into force on January 10, 2016. After that, Kiev repeatedly introduced new duties and embargoes on Russian goods.
