OREANDA-NEWS. The legislative initiatives of the British Parliament are aimed at creating a false impression in the European Union about the possibility of canceling Brexit. This opinion was expressed on Tuesday by British Foreign Minister Dominic Raab.

On Tuesday, members of the House of Commons of the British Parliament must present a legislative initiative that is designed to prevent the United Kingdom from leaving the European Union without an agreement on the conditions of Brexit. "The essence of this initiative is to sow doubts in the EU, creating a feeling with the help of intrigues in parliament that Brexit can be canceled. This weakens the position of British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. I urge all parliamentarians not to vote for this bill", he said on the air of the British television channel. Raab also noted that the government’s work is aimed at “avoiding another exhausting and paralyzing delay” of Great Britain’s exit from the EU, adding that each month a country’s absence from the EU will cost taxpayers £ 1 billion.

According to the previous agreement, the country was supposed to leave the EU by the end of March, but this didn't happen due to circumstances that had happened. However, members of the House of Commons of the British Parliament three times rejected the draft agreement on the conditions of Brexit, reached between Brussels and the government of Prime Minister Theresa May. As a result, the EU agreed to postpone Brexit, first to April or May, then to October 31, and May was forced to resign, failing to break the deadlock.

After her departure, Johnson took the British Prime Minister’s chair, who promised to carry out Brexit without a deal if Brussels does not agree with London’s main demand and does not exclude the backstop provision from it (Northern Ireland’s regime of membership in the EU customs union and the single European market after the offensive transitional period Brexit).
