Consulting company Brand Finance released the first global ranking of countries in terms of their “soft power” which means the ability of a nation to influence the preferences and behavior of various players in the international arena through the means not connected with the use of force.

The first place, despite the contradictory behavior of President Donald Trump, is gained by the United States. It takes first place in eight indicators, which emphasize the highest level of development of American business, technology and society.

Germany and the United Kingdom are in the second and third places of the rating. Germany managed to become one of the most influential countries in the world due to the very high level of economic development. The UK did not cease to be one of the most influential powers in the world, and Brexit will not prevent it from remaining such, the authors of the report say. The top five also includes Japan and China.
