OREANDA-NEWS. The production of the new Belarusian vaccine against COVID-19 will be carried out by the biological industry enterprise BelVitunifarm. The decree on the implementation of the new project was signed by President Alexander Lukashenko. This was reported in the Telegram channel "Pool of the First".

The government considered that the enterprise, thanks to the infrastructure and specialists, became the most promising site for the pilot industrial production of vaccines. A plant necessary for this will also appear in the Vitebsk region. In the future, as noted, the biotechnological cluster will be developed in this direction.

Earlier, the Belarusian leader said that the country should complete the creation of a reliable domestic vaccine that will help accelerate the pace of the fight against the pandemic. Lukashenko noted that vaccinated people are easier to tolerate the disease. For this reason, he himself wants to "inject himself", but only with the Belarusian vaccine.

According to the head of the Ministry of Health, Belarusian citizens will be vaccinated with the domestic vaccine in the first half of 2023. Its creation was announced at the beginning of May. At that moment, Lukashenko specified that the country would subsequently be able to receive hundreds of millions of dollars from the export of its vaccine.
