OREANDA-NEWS  Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that Belarus has strengthened control on the border with Ukraine after the destruction of Ukrainian drones.

"After the events with these drones, we have strengthened control on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border. Moreover, we have withdrawn parts of our army there," Belta quoted Lukashenko as saying at a meeting on military security on Friday.

He asked the military what the situation on the border is now, whether all units have been withdrawn to the area of concentration of troops in case of an emergency.

"I have received the materials, I have the appropriate card. I ask you to report not only the situation, but also the development of the situation, your suggestions on what we will do next here," the Belarusian head of state said.
Lukashenko previously reported that on August 9, Ukrainian, presumably, attack drones were shot down over the territory of the republic, and another part was destroyed by Russian colleagues over the territory of the Russian Federation. The Head of State called it a provocation, noting that "any provocations will not remain unanswered." Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said that Lukashenko had instructed to strengthen the grouping of troops in the Gomel and Mozyr tactical areas in the south of the republic, where it borders Ukraine.
