BCG Expects Growth of Unemployment in Russia by 8–10 %
OREANDA-NEWS. According to a review by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) on unemployment in Russia and the whole world, unemployment in Russia in the near future may rise from 4.6 % to 8–10 % (it is a baseline scenario).
If the economic crisis develops according to the most negative scenario, this figure may reach 12–15 %, if the most favourable scenario is realized – 6–7 %. However, according to analysts, by the end of the year, the situation may improve. They point out that it is important to take steps to manage the business’s return to work and monitor the situation.
Experts also estimated that in the next two to three months, one out of every six people in the world may lose their jobs amid a coronavirus pandemic. In 2020, almost 2 billion people may lose jobs or go to part-time jobs.
