Azerbaijan Reported about Shooting at the Border with Armenia
OREANDA-NEWS. The State Border Service of Azerbaijan reported, that the Armenian military personnels violated the ceasefire regime on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. On February 2, at about 05:00 in the morning, the Armenian Armed Forces violated the ceasefire regime, opening fire from machine guns 20 times in the direction of the Gazakh district, the press service of the ministry reports.
The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied reports of a violation of the truce on the border with Azerbaijan and called this report «an absolute lie».
The armed conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh between Azerbaijan and Armenia resumed on September 27. Baku launched a counter-offensive operation that lasted two weeks. On the night of November 10, Aliyev, Putin and Pashinyan signed a joint statement on the conditions for ending the armed conflict. Under the terms of the document, the armies of the opposing countries remained in their occupied places, and Russian peacekeepers were brought to the region to monitor compliance with the ceasefire.
At the same time, on February 1, the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev, stated that the issue of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh has not yet been resolved and now it can not be discussed in order to avoid a «powerful discharge».
