OREANDA-NEWS  The wife of ousted Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Asma, expressed dissatisfaction with life in Moscow and filed for divorce. This is reported by The Jerusalem Post.

It is noted that the politician's wife has already appealed to the Russian court and requested special permission to leave Moscow. Her application is currently being reviewed by the Russian authorities.

According to the newspaper, Asma Asad intends to return to her homeland in the UK. She was born and raised in London to Syrian parents.

Assad, who resigned, said that he learned about the fall of Damascus after arriving at the Russian military base in Khmeimim. The office of the former Syrian leader said that Assad was not going to resign and did not think to seek asylum during the days of the terrorist offensive. It is noted that he remained in Damascus until the early morning of December 8.
