OREANDA-NEWS. According to the Prime Minister each of the leaders in Europe has sufficient contacts, while the Commission, the European Parliament and the European Council have leverage to influence the Presidents of Russia and the US, the first diplomats of those countries to reach an agreement on Syria. “There is no migrant crisis for Russia and the US. Everyone comes to Europe, because our leaders for decades have built the best place to live, they have built the EU, because they have been much more insightful, they survived the Hundred Years War and now… they know that whatever misunderstandings and difficulties there are in the Union, there is nothing better than peace and common actions,” said Borissov.

He defined the topic of migration and integration as the main one, where humaneness, kindness, and the willingness of every woman and every mother to help collide with the huge pressure on European society and the instigated fears. The Prime Minister reminded of the images of drowned children and the sadness and shame felt by everyone that this is allowed to happen in the 21st century. “Back then, namely all countries with developed democracies reacted in help of those people fleeing the war. And I continue to think that we should help those who flee from war, especially where there is an intervention on our side – by Europe, by NATO countries, we should bear the responsibility because we caused it,” Borissov said. “Millions killed, demolished infrastructure. Imagine the mothers in those countries – where there used to be a kindergarten, it does not exist anymore; where there used to be a hospital, it does not exist anymore… the house, the apartment, the home – they do not exist anymore. Imagine that just for a moment you see such images of Europe – what would you do? You will call the political party, the parliament? Or you would first check where your children are? Wouldn’t you look for another place in the world, whatever that costs you, to find a better future for them,” asked the Prime Minister.

He pointed out that namely in this sense he spoke that each nation needs a mother, “because there is nothing stronger than the instinct of a mother.” For this reason in particular, the voice of women should be heard by all institution, Borissov said.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister underscored that of key importance for finding a consensus on the topic of migrants in the EU has been the European Council meeting in Bratislava and the decision to close the European borders. “We have been suggesting it for two years… and although it came from Bulgaria, this suggestion could be adopted,” the Prime Minister said and noted that sweeping the problems under the carpet does not mean they do not exist anymore.

According to him, no one would send back people fleeing from war if they request help at the official border checkpoints. “Then everyone will open their hearts, will try to help those people in despair. Because our missiles destroyed them – the French, the English, the American, the Russian and the Turkish. They destroyed those cities, those countries… It is dangerous for me to speak this way, but this is the truth. Why do we have to wait for ten years to apologize instead of doing it now? How many years will those countries have to wait before we reconstruct their cities, schools, homes, to bring the educated and the doctors back there? How many billions will be necessary for this,” asked Borissov.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister again underlined that the migratory process will be possible to manage only after the end of the war and the creation of an opportunity for people seeking to save their lives to return to their native places.
