OREANDA-NEWS. President Petro Poroshenko is confident that at the future presidential elections in the United States, Americans will choose a leader to support freedom, democracy and values in the world.

“I think that the elections is the matter for the American people. And this is not only a privilege to be American and vote for the next president, but also a very big responsibility because you elect the president of the country who will be the global leader,” Petro Poroshenko said in the interview to CNN TV channel.      

The President believes “this global leader is vitally important not only for the United States, but also to keep freedom, to keep democracy, to keep values in a very difficult world we have now”.

“I think that after the elections, no matter who would be elected, he or she would be a very responsible leader of the great American nation,” the Head of State commented on the difference between political positions of candidates for President of the United States and consequences of victory of this or that candidate for the world.
