OREANDA-NEWS. President Petro Poroshenko presented certificates and keys to apartments to 24 servicemen of the State Special Transport Service in the course of the working trip to Dnipropetrovsk region.

The Head of State emphasized that the attitude of the state to the maintenance of the Armed Forces and other security agencies had been drastically changed the last two years. Ukraine had to spend money first of all on the security sector over the past two years – uniform, armament, as well as material, medical and financial maintenance of the military.

“It is very important where a soldier comes back home. We have paid a top-priority attention to ensuring housing for the military. As President and Supreme Commander-in-Chief, I am pleased to report to the public that almost 2.5 thousand apartments have been presented to the AFU servicemen over the past two years. 2 thousand more have been presented to the National Guard, Security Service, your Service and the Border Service of Ukraine,” the Head of State said.

The President added that another important feature was the cost of construction. In 2013-2014, the cost of construction equaled UAH 14-22 thousand per square meter. Recently, apartments have been presented with the cost of construction equal to UAH 7400-8800 per square meter. “This is an example of efficient use of every kopeck of public funds allocated to the security and defense sector by Ukraine,” Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

According to the President, Ukraine pays great attention to the restoration of infrastructure. He reminded that after the liberation of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, the first task was to restore the ruined infrastructure. The first funds were allocated to the reconstruction of three schools and kindergartens.
