OREANDA-NEWS. Moldova today received the first installment amounting to 60 million euros, according to an agreement on refundable financial assistance between Romania and Moldova. Prime Minister Pavel Filip told a today’s cabinet meeting that this confirmed that the government was going safely and consistently on reforms.

“It is a loan in due time, when speaking about balancing the national budget. We needed this loan, but, on the one hand, I want to give a little different connotation, it is not only about a financial assistance, it is an exercise proving that Moldova was focused on reforms from the beginning of the year until now, so it continues to go ahead,” Pavel Filip said.

The premier voiced confidence that Moldova’s further success depended on seriousness in commitments, on promptness to meet them and capacity to take measures in accordance with what people want. Filip urged ministers to maintain the activity pace in promoting reforms.

“All commitments made by us in early 2016, when we assumed responsibility to this government, have been met. I am speaking about the measures agreed with Prime Minister Ciolos, and last but not least, roadmap that was carried out in more than 90 per cent. We will continue exactly on the same path in the second half of 2016. Surely, soon we will feel the pressure of election messages, and I ask you to work here at the government, to focus on the area of responsibility and to prove people that we are those who are not focused on populisms, but facts,” the Prime Minister said.

In the same context, the premier highlighted importance of official visit by his Romanian counterpart to Chisinau, which would consolidate the good bilateral relations between the two countries and which would mean more support for Moldova’s European integration.
