Pavel Filip to Diaspora Children: Your Home is Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS. Prime Minister Pavel Filip has participated today in the inauguration of the fourth edition of DOR program – Diaspora. Origins. Returns, for Diaspora children and youth. The premier said that this camp is an opportunity for children and youth in the Diaspora to visit the home country, to know more about the traditions and customs, to interact with their peers in Moldova.
Also, Pavel Filip said that the present government is concerned with improving the lives of the Moldovan citizens and creating favourable conditions for the return home of those abroad. "Indeed, we have lived many difficult moments, we had several crises that led your parents to go abroad to find a job. This is a burden that we feel every day. You have in front of you a man who thinks every day how and what to do with the governmental team for Moldova to become so very attractive to you and your parents," said the head of the Executive.
Meanwhile, Pavel Filip pointed out that it is very important that all Moldovan migrants’ children to keep the emotional touch with Moldova and to know its traditions. "There are beautiful and picturesque places throughout the globe, but the best man feels at origins, from where he started. You should know, that the best you will feel in Moldova. I want you to feel good here and see you more often and soon home. Your home is Moldova," the Prime Minister emphasized.
The DOR program participants could dialogue with the PM, put various questions: from his plans as head of the Executive to the dreams and childhood pranks.
The Premier said the following, when asked by children on three reasons to determine the Moldovan citizens working abroad to return home: "firstly, Moldova is your homeland, secondly, our country was blessed by God through its distinguished people, even though Moldova has no mountains, no sea, but it has nice people. And, thirdly, Moldova will become, soon, a country among countries of the European family."
The DOR camp – Diaspora. Origins. Returns. is under the Government’s patronage and is organized annually by the Office for Relations with Diaspora. The program aims to strengthen cultural ties and identity of children in Diaspora with their origin country – Moldova. This year it attends over one hundred children from 13 countries, aged between 12–17.
