PM Asks to Repair Damaged Road in Central District
OREANDA-NEWS. Prime Minister Pavel Filip, on a working visit to the central Anenii Noi district, today took knowledge of the work of the gravel pit in the Delacau village and inspected the roads in nearby settlements.
The Prime Minister stressed that it was vital that the activity at mines should not cause discomfort to local residents and entrepreneurs should get directly involved in repair of damaged road segments.
"It is good that there are pits which develop their economic activity in the district, jobs are created and salaries paid. Nevertheless, we must not forget that a part of their work is done in the citizens’ discomfort. This is a problem that we must solve and we should see how each party can contribute to this process: operators, local authorities and government," the prime minister said.
The Prime Minister noted that work of each of the 20 pits from Anenii Noi district, as well as their legality were to be analysed.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip informed that a working group had been set up to identify solutions to repair the road. A project to this end is already developed and provides for earmarking 190 million lei for the rehabilitation of a road section of about 31 kilometers. The PM also said that possibilities were to be considered for allocating financial means from the Road Fund, urging at the same time, public authorities and enterprises to help finance the project.
In discussions, the leaders of the gravel pits showed open to collaborate and help repair the damaged section of the road. At the same time, they analyzed possibilities of opening bypass roads for transporting deposits.
About 65% of the total quantities of sand and gravel from Moldova are extracted in the Anenii Noi district.
