OREANDA-NEWS  The exchange of prisoners with Azerbaijan may take place in the coming days, head of the Foreign Relations Commission of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Armenia Sarkis Khandanyan said. Sputnik Armenia writes about this.

During the briefing, the deputy announced that the exchange of prisoners is possible even within the next few hours. He also added that the meeting could take place on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

Khandanyan noted that the names of the persons to be exchanged are not called because of the sensitivity of the issue and the mood in society. He expressed hope that the exchange of prisoners would have a positive impact on the conclusion of a peace treaty.

Earlier, Azerbaijan and Armenia issued a joint statement on measures to resolve the conflict. The message says that the parties mutually release some of the prisoners and prisoners.
