OREANDA-NEWS. The employees of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia stated that they had to respond to the shelling of the Azerbaijani military in Nagorno-Karabakh.

In particular, as the press secretary of the Armenian defense department Shushan Stepanyan wrote on Facebook, in the morning of October 27, from 10:00 to 10:15 local time, the Azerbaijani side again violated the ceasefire. The shelling of the territory from drones was recorded, one of which as evidence fell on the territory of Armenia, and rocket and artillery weapons at the border outpost on the southern border with Iran.

The secretary also stressed that Azerbaijan continues attacks on the southern border of Armenia, as a result of these attacks there are wounded. The Defense Army of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic also confirms that the situation in the region remains tense.

Both warring parties continue to blame each other for what is happening in the region.

It should be recalled that there have already been repeated attempts to establish an armistice with the participation of third countries, in particular, Russia. So, the first attempt was on October 9 in Moscow, at the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations, when both sides agreed on a ceasefire, as well as on the exchange of prisoners and bodies of those killed, but after that the fighting continued.

A second attempt to establish a truce was made on the night of October 18, but this did not lead to a relaxation of tension.

For the third time, the end of the armed confrontation was announced following the results of negotiations in the United States, which took place over the weekend, but the third step was also not crowned with success.
