OREANDA-NEWS Modernization of the Ulan-Ude Instrument Manufacturing Association (U-UPO), a plant engaged in the production of high-precision instruments, is planned in Buryatia. This was announced by the head of Buryatia Alexey Tsydenov in his Telegram channel.

"We met with the CEO of the KRET concern ("Concern Radioelectronic Technologies" - TASS note). The instrument-making association is part of the concern. We have agreed on the modernization of our enterprise, the renewal of the machine park, as well as on the participation of KRET in the Ulan-Ude rental housing construction program for the company's personnel," Tsydenov wrote.

The head of the region also said that he had discussed in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia a project for the production of electric motors in Buryatia. "Now we have already started small-scale production of electric motors. But the task is to establish the production of up to 1 million engines per year. And these are additional jobs with good salaries," said Tsydenov. He explained that the specifics of the production of electric motors provide, in addition to automation, a lot of manual labor. "We plan to make mini-workshops in our settlements in our districts, where women will be able to get high-paying jobs," the head of Buryatia added.

Ulan-Ude Instrument Manufacturing Association is one of the largest in the Russian instrument manufacturing market. During the pandemic, U-UPO began to actively develop the production of products to combat COVID-19 - face shields, recirculators for public and industrial premises. In addition, the repair of artificial lung ventilation (ventilator) devices has been organized at the plant since the spring of 2020. Previously, U-UPO specialized only in the production of products for the military industry, aircraft industry, but over time diversified production.
