An Explosion at a Mosque in Northern Afghanistan Killed at Least 30 People
OREANDA-NEWS. An explosion has occurred in a mosque in northern Afghanistan. At least 30 people were killed and 70 injured. This is reported by the Anna News agency. The incident occurred at the Said Abad Shiite Mosque in Kunduz province. It is noted that a suicide bomber detonated an explosive device while inside the mosque. Several victims were hospitalized.
Member of the Taliban Commission (movement is banned in the Russian Federation) Mohammad Jalal believes that the terrorist attack was carried out by the militants of the Islamic State group (also banned in the Russian Federation).
Earlier it was reported about an explosion at the entrance to the Idhag mosque, where a farewell ceremony was held with the mother of the Taliban representative Zabihullah Mujahid. It is reported that after the explosion, a shootout began between the Taliban and militants of one of the cells of the Islamic State terrorist group. Mujahid confirmed the incident and noted that the explosion occurred in a large crowd of people, as a result of which civilians were killed.
