OREANDA-NEWS An earthquake of magnitude 5.0 has occurred in western Turkey. This is reported on the website of the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.

The tremors were recorded on the night of Tuesday, June 25. According to the center, the epicenter was located 45 kilometers southwest of the city of Balikesir with a population of 238 thousand inhabitants. The hearth lay at a depth of 10 kilometers. There is no information about casualties or damage.

Before that, an earthquake was recorded in Turkey on June 22. Its magnitude was 4.0. The tremors occurred in the province of Malatya in the east of the country.

Earlier it became known that Turkey's budget, amid the effects of earthquakes and high election expenses, is approaching a deficit that could amount to 6.4 percent of GDP.
