OREANDA-NEWS   Residents of the Irkutsk region and Buryatia reported an earthquake. The magnitude, tentatively, is about 4.8, writes Telegram channel Babr Mash.

Presumably, the epicenter was located near the village of Klyuyevka in Buryatia, where the tremors reached 6.9 points. It is specified that the earthquake was felt by residents of Usolsky, Angarsk, Shelekhovsky, Slyudyansky, Ehirit-Bulagatsky, Olkhonsky and Irkutsk districts.

These are not the first tremors in recent times. The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Irkutsk region reported that an earthquake of magnitude 5.9 occurred in the waters of Lake Baikal on Friday morning, October 14. In connection with the incident, an operational headquarters was deployed in the main directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the region.

In August 2022, seismologists told about an earthquake of magnitude 6.0 registered near the Kuril Islands. According to their data, the earthquake was located at a depth of 25 kilometers.
