OREANDA-NEWS Russian Ambassador to Poland Sergei Andreev believes that the attack on him and other Russian diplomats on May 9 in Warsaw was not spontaneous and was being prepared under the control of Polish special services. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to him, sufficiently qualified law enforcement and security services operate in Poland.
“All this has been prepared for a long time, it’s not just like that. Accordingly, I cannot believe that the preparations were carried out without the knowledge, without control by the Polish relevant services, ”the diplomat expressed the opinion.
The attack on the Russian ambassador, his wife and a group of diplomats accompanying him was committed on May 9, when they were going to lay flowers at the cemetery of Soviet soldiers. They were doused with red paint and they were not allowed to lay a wreath. A few minutes later, the police arrived at the scene of the incident, law enforcement officers surrounded the diplomats and helped them get to the car.
Andreev later said that neither he nor the team received serious injuries, and the embassy would express a formal protest to the Polish authorities.
Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Alexander Bastrykin instructed to establish the circumstances of the attack and bring those involved to criminal responsibility.
