OREANDA-NEWS  It is clarified that the fact of the seizure of Kandahar by the militants was recognized by the Afghan deputy Semin Barekzai. In addition, he noted that some of the local officials fled the city. 

It is also indicated that, according to eyewitnesses, the “Taliban” seized the city administration and other buildings in Kandahar. At the same time, the governor and other officials managed to fly to Kabul. 

As it was reported earlier, on August 12 it became known that the Taliban militants took control of the city of Ghazni, the capital of the province of the same name in the center of Afghanistan.
