A Painting by Van Gogh Was Stolen from a Museum in the Netherlands
OREANDA-NEWS. Dutch police reported that the painting “Parish garden in Nuenen, Spring” by Vincent Van Gogh was stolen from the Singer Laren museum complex. Unknown people broke into the museum on the night. They destroyed the glass door, after which the alarm went off. However, the policemen failed to capture the criminals. Police began an investigation, officers collected data from cameras and interviewed possible witnesses.
The cost of the stolen painting is not reported. The exhibit was presented for temporary use by the Groninger Museum.
According to Singer Laren’s website, the museum is currently closed to the public due to measures introduced by the government to combat the spread of the coronavirus.
