OREANDA-NEWS The polymer products factory will start operating in the Khabarovsk Territory in 2026, the company will produce ships made of composite materials, the regional government reported.
"In the Territory of Advanced Development Khabarovsk, a polymer products factory for the production of ships made of composite materials will start operating. Currently, a new plant is under construction, its cost will be more than 90 million rubles. The launch of production and the release of the first products is planned for the end of 2026," the government said.
The company will produce ships, pleasure and sports vessels, boats. It is planned to produce at least 6 commercial and 12 private vessels annually. The plant is expected to reach full capacity in the first quarter of 2027.
The construction site has already been cleared, preparatory work is underway. According to the general director of the enterprise Vitaly Selyukov, about 10 million rubles of own funds have already been invested in the project. By the end of March, the development of project documentation will be completed, and all the necessary activities at the site will be completed to start construction.
According to the regional Ministry of Industry and Trade, up to 40 new jobs will be created at the factory.
"The shipbuilding plant, which produces small vessels made of composite materials, is a new direction in our region. The emergence of such an enterprise will have a positive impact on the development of the entire industry. The regional Industrial Development Fund is ready to support the plant. Now the company is preparing a package of documents for obtaining a joint loan," said Sergey Afanasyev, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the region.
By the end of 2023, the volume of production in the shipbuilding industry increased by 26% compared to the level of 2022. The issues of recapitalization of shipbuilding enterprises and increasing the utilization of production capacities continue to be worked out. Earlier, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Khabarovsk Territory, Yevgeny Romanov, told TASS that in 2024, growth in shipbuilding is expected to be more than 1.3 times due to an increase in production volumes as part of the fulfillment of contracts under the state defense order by the Amur Shipbuilding Plant.
