OREANDA-NEWS President of Latvia Raimonds Vеjonis will pay a working visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan on March 16 and 17.

The President of Latvia will participate in the Fifth Global Baku Forum, where current and former heads of state and government, ministers and academicians will discuss topical international issues. Particular attention will be paid to the opportunities of the EU Eastern Partnership, transatlantic relations, and the fight against terrorism.

During his visit, Raimonds Vеjonis will meet with top officials of Azerbaijan. During the meetings, there is an intention to discuss the current events of bilateral political and economic relations between the two countries, especially cooperation in trade, investment, transport, and logistics. They will also discuss strengthening of the EU-Azerbaijan relations by using the opportunities of the EU Eastern partnership more and by expanding legal framework between the EU and Azerbaijan.
