OREANDA-NEWS. The President of Latvia congratulates Donald Trump on his election as President of the United States of America.

“Voters of the United States have made their choice. I congratulate the newly elected US President Donald Trump with his victory in the elections,” said President of Latvia Raimonds Vējonis today after the preliminary results of the US presidential elections were announced. 

Latvia and the United States share democratic values. The United States have always been and will continue to be a strategic partner for Latvia and an important NATO ally. Latvia will continue to develop political, security, and economic cooperation with the US, as the President of Latvia indicated. 

“We will continue to work together, ensuring both collective defense and the fight against terrorism, as well as other modern security challenges,” stressed the President of Latvia.
